he Iberi Choir is from the Republic of Georgia, home to one of the world’s most distinctive choral traditions. From rousing drinking songs to impossibly sad folk ballads, Georgian choral music represents a link to centuries past. (Plus, their performance outfits feature daggers!)
On Sunday, Jan. 14, the Iberi Choir makes its New York debut as part of the 15th annual GlobalFEST. This year's FEST is a banquet table of a world music feast (!), featuring Cuban, Congolese, and Celtic musicians, Avant-pop from Brazil, modern Iranian songs, Puerto Rican boleros, Balkan Romani songs and much more, at BB Kings, its sister venue, Lucille's, and Liberty Theater in Times Square.
